As the clock at school neared 3pm i would get excited butterflies in my stomach, because i knew i was going
to my friend Hayleys house.

I loved going to Hayleys because i knew her mum frequented the Griffins factory to get boxes of broken
biscuts.

We would sneak into the pantry with an old icecream container and scoop out a container full of biscuts
making sure we had plenty of chocolate fingers and Choc Aides.
Knowing that her mum would be home soon, and not wanting her to be cross with us we climbed up the huge macrocapa tree and gorged ourselves on the delicious Griffins biscuits.

Mallowpuffs were smashed against foreheads and the broken shards of chocolate slowly pealed off and melted in our mouths, choclolate fingers were sucked of all their chocolate, and the delicious Choc Aides with their biscuity casing, orange centres and hard thick chocolate tops were slowly taken apart and eaten separately saving the chocolate to last.

Now i watch my three children pull apart Shrewsberry biscuits and lick the jam out, and scrape the
icing off Cookie Bear hundreds and thousands biscuits and i smile remembering that macrocapa
tree!

brings back memories ... I used to envy the kids at school whose parents had the boxes of broken biscuits! It was great when they would bring some to school to share with us.
